Left Handed Path

The Left Hand Path (LHP) is solitary, individualistic, personal, based on self development, self analysis, self empowerment. Frequently called "evil" and "dark" by non Satanic religions, the followers of the left hand path often have had to remain in the darkness or face severe persecution from the religions that ironically call themselves "good". This is testimony enough that the image of the purely "good" icons is a veneer; a non-truth. Followers of Left-Hand Path belief systems seek to become divinities in their own right. Under these definitions, various esoteric groups, often with widely differing beliefs, could be considered to be followers of the LHP. These include various forms of Satanism, such as LaVeyan Satanism (which is organised through both the Church of Satan and the rival First Satanic Church) as well as Theistic Satanism. Other Western LHP philosophies include Luciferianism, Setianism, the Typhonian Order, Chaos Magic, Feri, and magicians who deal in demonology, as well as groups like the Dragon Rouge and the Order of Nine Angles. Several eastern philosophies could also be viewed as adhering to the LHP, including Taoism forms of Hinduism such as Aghoris and Vamachara, forms of Buddhism like Dugpas and Pantheism.

Just because you walk this path does not make you evil or bad though With Pride i would define myself to be so

Nice post :) I neither walk the right nor left hand path ..I prefer to walk the middle path right now...I do not consider myself either darkness or light, I have an affinity to both light and dark and use both according to my will and desires. right hand path is almost always considered the light path and of good ..but what really is good one can still use light to harm another equally so could be said about left hand or the dark path to most lol..one can still heal using dark.Balance of both is what i consider myself to be , but i do not judge others on their choosen path be it left or right ..just havn't found where i belong right now :)

A very enlightening post. I agree with our High Priestess though on the matter of light and dark, good and bad. I too am stuck in the middle. Thank you Honey for your clarifications on the subject. :)

Very well thought out, informative post, Chaotic. Thank you. I'm with Gin on her position of the middle path. I'm somewhere wandering way back behind 2nd base. The reason being, I don't see anything as good or evil. Dualism, I believe, was in-part created to explain our personal emotions, and I prefer to look at the grand scope of the cosmos opposed to my personal perspectives. By accepting dualistic views we open ourselves to attacks. People call me evil, but I see through their words. They're admitting they scared of me because they can't predict my next move -they can't understand why I don't act like they do. (This is exposing their weakness so I can hit them where it hurts later, if needed.) When I was a kid this bothered me, but now that I'm older and understand more, it's more like cheap entertainment. I see the advantage I have. When the herd isn't looking, well.. you never know where I'm lurking or what I'm up to. ;) Dualism is just another way we humans use to explain this f'd up world we exist in.

Very few people I have met can actually comprehend my view. Fortunately many members of this coven are in the few who "get it".

Some of the most intelligent and innovative people i have ever met follow LHP philosophies. Also, some of the most compassionate. I have always found satanists to be one of the most demonized(pun intended lol) of the self-discovery paths out there. Although you can find some of the most arrogant holier than thou(haha puns abound)practitioners of the paths as well, it kind of goes with the territory. Those that own the philosophy and really understand it are a gem of wisdom in my experience .
