Divination is the attempt to gain un insight into a question or situation by standardized process or ritual.
There are various types of divination but which one do you prefer?
What kind of divination do you perform? Can you describe it? What do you need to fulfill your divination? Interesting situation during of after deviation ritual?
My favorite divination process is the one my granny told me, which requires bowl of cold water, candle, spoon or some sort of metal object and good atmosphere...and note that your mood is the most important tool while doing this.
This can be performed indoors or outdoors, I prefer to do it in my back yard and set the bowl on the dirt so it can have some kind connection with the earth and the elements in general...
So here we go: Light the candle, tell your question, problem etc to the bowl and the candle (i am not kidding, the water always listens to your problems and trays to solve them and don't know lots about the fire though but it will sure make the ritual gain its purpose and be more effective) than ask the water to show you the answer and pour the hot wax from the candle into the bowl (you need to close your eyes while pouring the wax) repeat this 3 times than open your eyes and look in the bowl there should be 3 shapes formed in the water from the wax...and believe those forms will be like no others...and they suppose to tell you the answer...
When finished pour the water in the earth and burry the shapes of wax...
Now I will tell you about what happened when i performed this ritual asking a question that concerned my family... In the water, the shapes from the wax were the following: tree, eye and a cat...
The shapes that will appear can be interpreted by your own understandings and feelings you have towards the shape i.e. the object it represents.
I interpreted mine like this: tree-family, eye-something known already and cat-enemy or trouble maker. In extended interpretation it will be that someone in the family whom i know already is the trouble maker... and guess what it was my granny xD
Try this its fun and i am looking forward on reading YOURS ways of divination...
There is also a sky divinations i think it is called aeromancy...has anyone tried?
Have you tried looking at the clouds and seeing its shapes?

I have not personally tried aeromancy, but I do love cloud watching (makes me feel a little happier during the day).
But a specific section of divination regards energy manipulation, creating links with objects, people, and other various factors.
I like to call it psychic development, in short a very commonly talked about category of divination.
Yes, like psionics, telepathy, the clairs, etc...
This is something I've always loved to study, disregarding my spiritual beliefs, mostly because one doesn't need to be spiritual to practice.
I find it all extremely interesting, and highly misunderstood.
I personally think that divination is simply a way of knowing the future, or something that you wish an answer for; and I belive (although I don't like it!), that in the divinatory process, it is actually our "ALTER EGO" which makes us aware of the correct answer in one way or another (like divinations in: water, stones, rhunes, tarot, candle wax, annalysing an animal's liver, crystal - which happens to be my favorite, and COFEE). if I am right, that means that somewere in our "supraconciousness" the truth can be found. That means that we, somehow, manage to betray ourselfes, by hiding this truth that we need to know. And that sucks!! You have to do some "self ritual" to convince yourself to tell the answer that you seek, to your own same person? It has to be thiss way, saddly!
Once, I thaught that some spirit, elemental, or even the protective angel tells u the answers, but it won't happen if we don't speciffically ask for theyr help; in this case, we're not talking about divination, but "invocation", remmember that!
A very effective and little known method of divination is... COFEE! Someone did this kind of divination on me, which is guessing in the leftover of the fresh cofee that I just drunk. It left me mouth-opened, if I may say so... that woman showed me the inside of the cofee cup, and I saw PRECISE shapes of animals, and even numbers, whith a calligraphy which I could envy! It was CLEAR magic, done right before my eyes, without a shadow of doubt! and everything she told me, came all true...
I don't know how she has done it, she was certainly gifted, no doubt; I can't tell you how to use this method, because I don't know it... YET! Sooner or later I promise I'll find out!
But I hope we can discuss more about this topic in a conferrence chat, that of course, if the high priestess finds this subject of any worth...
Bright blessings, EDDIE!
Wow i didn't knew that people know a little about this method of divination performed by watching in the leftovers of drank coffee... Thank you Eddie for bringing this up so i can..."Enlighten" you all with this knowledge of mine...
It is a great trend here in Macedonia and it is performed for generations! Actually friends of mine come to me sometimes on coffee just to tell them "whats there for them" >.<
And i have watched in cup this morning for my cousin haha.
Anyway this is large subject and i promise i will write everything i know of this in another thread... And guess i will call it..Coffee divination? hm sound good ^;^
And i would love to see more types on divinations in this thread...just for wider infos ;)

Yeah Divination!
Lol, I love using divination when my mood takes me. I started off with Black mirror scrying though as much as I tried to force my self to use it I really couldn't 'connect' with it lol , now looking into tarot. The most form of divination I've used so far is probably tea leaf scrying. Now im currently looking into Geomancy, Aeromancy is good too :D very relaxing indeed.
I do divination in my mind. I simply use visualization and it works perfectly. It is good when your on a bus. I focus more on the 'instant' and 'covert' uses of magick.

Interesting, Elemental. There's some debate that divination is controlled by our will and as such certain answers are given not by a divine source or spirit helping, but what we want them to be.
Do you think that this mental divination may fall under that category?
Also, I'm a bit confused on what you mean by "instant".
