Beginner Advice

I have people ask me all the time for spells. I say no. Why? Because the best ritual or spell is written by you. That way, your energy is infused with it and it caters to your exact need. I've posted one spell but that's just the way I did it. When I started out, I cast exactly what I found in books or online. As I progressed, I still looked at spells but tweaked them to fit my needs. Now, I don't use spells or rituals that I don't write. I think it comes with experience. Do what feels best for you. If anyone needs any guidance with writing a spell or ritual, feel free to mail me! Yeah, I am starting to still use spells as guides, but changing them in ways like adding an object to use, or taking another away, adding a detail to the object, changing what you say, etc to fit my needs. I have even written a spell or two. The spells work either way, but I do prefer to write my own or take others and alter them in the ways i see fit.

That's exactly what I did. It's useful to read other people's work. It kind of gives you a basis to start with:) I know it helped me.

I studied the spells of my old high priestess, once I feltcomfortable I started to cast my own spells , do herbal magic, and of course healing (I enjoy this).
Now I write and cast my spells as I can imbue my powerand essence into my casting, the spells are proportionately more powerful when we ourselves write them.

Spells are to be made by yourself. Most people add spells to this site because they worked for them. Now what you should do is make your own, or if you want; edit spells from others. Be blessed

I am a beginner and I am always looking online for spells. Now that you have brought this subject I realize that you are right. If I want spells, I need to really think of the situations I am wanting to resolve. Thanks for the information. I do have one question since I am new. Do you (anyone on here that is experienced) write on regular paper or do you use something like the feather and parchment paper?

you can use a regular pen and paper. it doesnt really matter. but if it helps you then you can write with a quill on parchment :)

i agree, but only partialy, heres why; i dont think its the spell at all, its how u FEEL about it. makeing up ur own spells can work becuase u feel personaly intwined with it, only u know ur spell, u made it, its ur creation. and yet, the oldest spells out there can be the best, becuase they make you FEEL like there is more to them. Casting is dont by you, u realese it, how u feel about it is all that matters. Mind over Matter. Not the material, the mind

I had some great advice given to me a few years ago...this is just based off of my religion but I believe it encompases all of the craft. It doesn't matter what you use. Sure, Certain oils and colors may help but if you truly know what you want, you don't need any of the expensive stuff. I thought that was some great advice. :)

I do agree that it isn't the spell that holds the power. It's the caster.
