Enlighten Me Please.... By: PaganFlower / Beginner

Okay, so I have several topics that I would LIKE to have information on...
1. Gray magic?
2. The difference between dreaming about the future and having a vision of the future and they both come true.
3. The different types of magic....
If you could help with this, that would be awesome.
Ok to be blunt there are no colors in magick. Magick is what you make it to be. Dreaming and visions of the future and they both come true are called premonitions. Now there are a lot of types of magick; earth, healing, rituals and hundreds more.

Okay, thanks.
Gray magic was something that I heard about randomly.
I was wanting a little bit more information about the dreaming and visions, but thank you...
And I kind of guess that there would be a lot of different types of magic.

With regards to "grey magick"- people tend to refer to all magick as grey. This is because some people try to label it "black" and "white", which are both subjective labels and completely disagreeable. Thus, people tend to argue by saying "magick is a varying shade of grey". But as Boom said- magick has no color.
As for the different types of magick? There's a ton, and it would take quite a long time to list them all out. Too long, really. It would be easier to narrowly focus that down to specifics. What were you looking for?

I don't believe in coloring magick either but I have heard of another definition for grey magick. As logical black magick is a color label given to magick that causes harm to others, white magick is a color label given to magick used to help others, and grey magick is a color label given to magick that doesn't harm or hurt others but straddles the line between the two. Like said above color doesn't really have a color and I don't know what magick could possibly not help or hurt others as magick like anything can have unforeseen effects and at the very least helps the user but that is one definition I have heard of for supposed grey colored magick.
In my opion there is grey magick, black magick, white magick. However im not saying black magicks evil and white magicks good. But they do exist because thats how most magick users classify them.

Black Magic is a title given by the Catholic Church to any Pagan practice or belief that was not sanctioned by the Church;especially witchcraft!
In modern times, practising Pagans/Witches who believe that they are doing nothing against the Christian beliefs may say that their's is "white" magic; and that they are "white witches".
Such as Christian Wiccans. (Now there's a contradiction in terms!)
So I suppose all magic might be described as "grey". (Even gray in the USA). But really, it has no colour at all.

so everyones explained grey pretty much, it's just the grey area of magic. like cast a healing spell on a friend. you're doing it to help, that's good, but you didn't ask and therefore you're imposing your will on another. this is what grey magic means, you need to think about it, it's not good or evil [white or black]
2. hard to describe, i'll come up with an example dream.
in the dream you are walking down oak street, and you come across a brown kitten with one brown eye and one blue and you take it home.
a week later, you're walking down maple street and find a brown kitten with brown and blue eyes. you dreamed about the future, just one certain thing. if you were on the right street, then it's a vision. it's pretty tricky since there's also interpretation of dreams, because you could say you were dreaming about a street you know, or the dream might be telling you to interpret 'oak' along with 'brown' 'kitten' 'eyes' 'blue' add that together, and it's telling you about something. that's where your question can get confusing and complicated. personally, i don't see why it's important to know the difference, either way you 'saw' the future.
3. there are so many types it's hard to list them all. while magic has no colour it can be categorized into 'black' [negative magic like hexes] 'white' [positive like purification] 'grey' [love and healing] and green. green isn't really the magics colour, it's for practitioners of magic centered around herbs, natural remedies, and infusing magic into everyday life. reiki, candle magic, dragon, poppet, faerie, potion [any magic where it involves liquid; tea, oil, baths ect] i know there's more, but i can't think of any currently.

Gray magic is a term used to describe magic that doesn't have a negative intent but is done to someone without their permission.
I don't really see a difference between the two besides the obvious.
Some people attribute colors to different types of magic like red magic is war magic blue magic is healing. I don't really like the whole color system. To me all magic is the same. We as the caster give it intent.
Dreaming about the future and having waking visions about the future are just about the same thing except one is triggered by the subconcious while in a dreaming state while waking visions are more likely to have catalyst as to why you get them. A good number of people get premonitions while asleep but don't remember anything about them until it comes to pass, causing deja vu; however someone who gets waking premonitions is less common and its easier to remember them.
Try keeping a journal of your premonitions from both being awake and asleep. Label in which state of conciousness you had each, then study and compare them to see if there are differences.
