Yup, but that doesn't mean you can't and won't practice on the way.

Someone truely dedicated to the craft wouldn't worry about that...
Everyone has their own way of studying and understanding any and everything because we are all diffrent in such that some of us will learn the material more naturally (understanding it more) and some of us will need some time to ponder and really try to grasp it before moving on,that doesn't make anyone better or stronger than someone else it just takes some time; period to really get into the jist of it all, Just start with the basics and build your way up...
Don't let your ego conform but let your inner self explore so you can reach in depth and grasp it all.

if you want to master the art of magic you will never stop learning if you mean just the basics it should take you about a year but the basics are just the first step to a very long path

to learn the very basics, about a day depending on how well you remember stuff. to learn everything, it'll take you your lifetime and even then you may not know everything. while wicca isn't magic, wicca is the pursuit of knowledge, so no one ever masters wicca as does no one truly master magic. you're always learning, always practicing, always gaining new experiences. i've been studying for 8 years now, i haven't memorized all the herbs and uses, i know a lot about candle magic and potion craft, but i'm still not an expert on making oils [which i've been making for 4 years] and i know very little about crystals and stones.
