I have a question about the rule of three.
First, the rule of threes states that whatever you energy you send into the universe will return to you with three times as much force, correct. Or is that utterly wrong? Does that mean if you use Magick to help someone, in time around three times as much good will come your way? Or is it a rule that applies only to Magick used for ill?
Were someone to use Magick to inflect harm upon themselves, would they then bring about good fortune at some later date, or would the person then suffer again from the rule of three? Or would it be that nothing would happen?
Then, if it was that someone made a spell, and most of that spell involved harming another, yet a part of the spell harmed the caster, would that then weaken the effects of the rule of three?
well i think that, this is my opinion that the rule of three was in placed so it makes people think before they do something.
it might be true cause if you alter the balance of lets say universe, it would need to re-balance it self by like cause and effect.
i believe the energy you throw out when using a spell or ritual gets "recycled" into the universe and its not the magic that comes back but the cause and effect it does, comes back. like for example if someone cast a spell to hurt someone then the effect would be the person find out it was the caster and take revenge. or that a person heals someone then the effect per say would be the person thanks the caster for the help.
true but most people at first think that if they send lets say a fireball or something like that, it would come back three times bigger. im just giving my view on it.
Personally I don't believe in the law of three, but it seems to me that it would either have to apply in equal measure across the board or be nothing more than a karma-based warning to make people think before casting.
"The Rule of Three" is basically the concept that what you put out into the universe comes back threefold. It does not mean exacts but it does apply to both positive and negative energy.
Personally I do not believe anything comes back threefold. However everything you send out does cause a reaction. It is similar to the concept found in the book "The Secret". Like attracts like and if you send out positive energy it will come back positive. Same for negative energy.
As Newton said "To every action there is always an equal and opposite reaction." To me I believe in karma though not necessarily the threefold law as I feel that those who do something wrong ought to have consequences even though those consequences apply to me. That's more of a belief in life being fair even though we all know it isn't than a realistic fact. In the end it's more likely the rule of three is a concept to keep people from doing negative things and make them want to do positive things so positive energy will come back threefold.
I beleive that in the law of three if you were to use magic or an action that regardless of what the magic or action is its the intent of the action that affects positive and negative energy flow in the universe and thus in yourself.

The rule of three is as extreme as the concept of hell and I believe in neither. Action provokes reaction. The only "law" I consider is cause and effect. The negative effects of action is gained enemies physically and/or spiritually and the reaction of those enemies. And that applies to both physical and magickal action. I do however believe in 3 being a powerful number of manifestation/creation and divinity, and my opinion is that the meaning behind the number is the origin of it's use in the rule of three and isn't to be taken literally as most do.
