Accidental bloodshed

Would you be able to use blood that was shed by accident, such as blood from a nosebleed in a ritual? It just seems like a waste that all the blood is basically being burned and thrown away

It depends on what you are using the blood for. In most rituals, if you decide to use blood it has to be willingly given to symbolize that you are devoted to a deity or something along those lines. If you are using the blood to represent a person in a ritual then I suppose you can use it.

Ya that's what I was looking for, thanks. I was never really into sacrificing to God that much. It didn't seem right, you know?

I never use blood in Magick simply because I don't my Magick bloody. And if I want to sacrifce or give something up to the God or Goddess I attempt to give up a bad habit or do something that may harm myself but is better for another person.

I use blood I accidentally shed on my runes or other sigils. Just yesturday I accidentally cut open my cuticle (hurt as much as it sounds) and saw the drips of blood and immediately used it on a personal seal drawn on a stone I keep on my altar. I believe in "waste not" =)

But if it is for sacrifice, as an offering, a small cut or pinprick should be made on purpose. Fingertips are best because they heal quickly and stop bleeding fast.

In adding personal power, painless alternatives to blood would be semen or menstrual blood. Urine is controversial in use, everyone has different perspectives on when and how it should be used.
