Spirit summoning

I was wondering if they're are any sorts of spirits I can simply call upon to have a chat with? I wanna have a conversation, but I don't want to deal with anything that will linger either. Thank you!

The archangels are lovely entities you can call on for any sort of chat! Though, Ariel is more up-to-date on the latest fashion crazes and rumors ;D Cassiel isn't much of a talker, but Michael will talk until his jaw falls off.

A book I recommend is "The Angel Code" by Chantel Lysette

If you want to talk to a spirit eye to eye then you will have to practice evocation.

i dont think so. the spirits are people who were once alive. they have their own minds also. But i talked with a spirit once. a very nice won. In a dream. look up how to control your dream spell. It will ask you what you want to dream about and maybe, just maybe, you will talk to a nice spirit. If you stumble upon a mean and dark one, do not fall for their tricks like my friend did. :) good luck
