You need helping making your own spells or is it how to make sure they work? Becuase you have to know what you are doing and believe if you don't believe it wont come true.

Are you looking to make them, or make them work? Either way, you need the basics. They tell you all you need to know about how they work, to 'make' them work per say, and how to write spells. Working without them, you're set for failure ;)

I just described an incredibly easy way to do this write your own spells to someone in email.

First you just need to know what you want. Make sure it's reasonable and jot down a couple or so sentences basically in the form of a polite request describing that desire.

What you do after that to cast your spell is up to you. Writing spells is not at all a rigid practice and you can do basically anything that simply works for you.

Do you like candles? Light a couple candles of the color you associate with the subject of your spell (your desire).

Do you like herbs? Look up something edible and perform an extraction to get a charged liquid you can use in food or drink dedicated to desire/spell.

Do you prefer circles or elaborate ritual work? Find a tool that works for directing energy, like a wand or an athame. Perhaps you can use a direction and conjure an element that might characteristically specialize in the subject of your desire. Design a circle if you want. One with inscriptions matching or having to do with your spell.

Do you want an extra boost for your spell? Try finding the moon phase that supports your subject and cast the spell during that moon phase.

Write down all of your ideas and trim off what you feel is excessive. Decide on the order of which you want to perform the tasks you've chosen. Decide on a date and cast it.
