music&magick

this is really random, but when working magick, do any of you listen to music to concentrate or just to feel epic? I usually listen to two steps from hell or soundtrack music like starwars, lotr, and other good movies like narnia or pirates of the caribean. just cuz we cant use the magick in movies doesn't mean that once in awhile we should feel that we can

Music is actually very helpful to some for getting into deep trances or focusing/narrowing their thoughts. I tend to use a lot of rock music. Some people would find that distracting but for me the rhythm is important to my work and I tend to focus on bass lines. Some people like other music, some like no music, some like nature sounds. So it's not unthinkable that you listen to that kind of music when doing your work. Whatever helps you along.

I usually listen to a band called Samael, well their stuff from 1996 and up anyway. They're not epic movie stuff, rather very rhythmic industrial metal, and their lyrics are very positive and self empowering. Probably the most positive stuff I've listened to, and definitely true Satanists in harnessing their own power and positivity in a genre where many take the Satanism thing overtly theatrical and almost comical. I'm by no means a Satanist, the positive energy I feel from the music itself I find as a great "booster" when building energy before a ritual or spell. Not for everyone, but hey.....different strokes for different folks.
