You dont have to read them as reversed. Some people do, other people dont. It is really preference. I personally like to read reversed because I feel it give additional insight and clarity to what the cards are telling me.
If you still want to try working with reversed cards, maybe it would help you to include opposite meanings with the upright meanings. Like a yin yang has opposites in a whole, you could apply that to your reading.
Yes actually ive got a book on thoth that doesn't even have the reversed meaning ,it says you dont read them upside down,runes upside down is called merkstave and runes go both ways too,i've got a book on them too that doesnt give the inverteeted interpretation.. As for you automatically correcting it, i think thats fine every divinator does stuff differently..I'll shuffle my cards till one drops into my lap.. It's all practice with them, and your bond will grow with them and then you'll need to ask fewer and fewer questions because you'll "know" your cards.. love and moon light
Personally, I don't read them reversed. However, the correct way to read them upright is by ahead of time making sure that all your cards are upright before the querent shuffles the cards. If you just leave them, and then choose to read them upright, you could come up with the opposite meaning!
Personally, I like to read them upright, but my cards are bigger than my hands, so I shuffle them an odd way xD sometime a few just get turned around, in that case I read them reversed, it's all about personal preference. As someone already said, reversed cards help clarify what the cards are saying, but then again, reversed cards often deal with negative aspects, and some people, like me, don't like reading them. :)
As a matter of technique, I was taught to shuffle my deck and every so often, turn the portion of my cards so they get shuffled into the deck reversed. Also, as a way to read the cards, I was taught that you can translate them to as what they mean to you, but because they're reversed, you simply change the meaning so it's opposite of what the positive (sometimes it can be a negative meaning at first and turn positive because it's in reverse), which allows, in my opinion, to give an accurate reading.
I prefer to read the cards upright.Also I don't pay special mind to how I turn the cards I just shuffle them in whatever way I feel like sometimes like in the casinos other times spreading them out in a big pile and moving them around but no matter what they always come upright and thats the way I like it.
Its really a personal thing.If you are comfortable with using upright and upside down cards well then by all means do it as this is what works best for you however if you are like me and will get distracted because it just seems too odd then don't use that method its not for you.
Remember you need to be relaxed and focus state of mind so if you get lost when staring at reversed cards then use the upright method instead or practice some more with the other method if you are that determined either way you will get an accurate reading.
The reversed cards have a meaning all their own. It's generally the opposite meaning of what it is facing you. Anyone who knows how to read tarot will know that both are needed to get an accurate reading.
Even though you place the cards so they turn toward you does not mean that some how the cards will reverse. They can and they do. If you try to fix the cards so none will come up reverse then the reading you are doing won't be correct.
I don't fix the cards so they don't get a reversed meaning its just how it ends up.My readings are very accurate.It depends on the reader for me I don't need the cards to be upside down to know that its the reverse of what the card means I can naturally tell if its the reverse meaning or not.
I feel connected to the person I am doing a reading for and I can sense how they feel.I am empathic and can tell the characteristics of a person which comes into play when doing a reading so I will know what a person will do in a given situation and the outcome of it.
My method works for me and there is no right or wrong way to shuffle the cards as long as you are accurate.Its all about how well you can read the cards.If you need them to be shuffled a certain way then fine for you but I shuffle the cards differently according to the question asked simple as that.Some people don't need to see the cards upside down or reversed runes to know its the reverse meaning and I am one of them.
You should note that everyone is different and have a different way of doing things in the end it comes down to if their method works or not.
