i think it would be helpful if people can comment or leave feedback in the spell section of the site...that way we can know after we read the spell how it worked for others.
i know we have a section for that in the forum but i think it would be better if it was under each specific spell.

There is a rating available for the spells for everyone to see.Even if there is option for feedback,it might be difficult to discern if the feedback is genuine or product of someones wild fantasy ,thus it might be even more confusing for the spellcaster to make up his/her mind about trying or not the spell.
The problem would be that there is no way to tell whether the person leaving feedback is being honest or not. As an example, there are a ton of "turn into a vampire" spells in the Fantasy section and none of them work. But with your system you could find people claiming that it did indeed work and now they are immortal undead. What use is that?
Besides, just because any spell worked for some random person is no guarantee that it will work for anyone else. It isn't the spell that makes the magic work...it's the knowledge and skill of the magic user. There's no way of rating that variable on the site.
ok i understand....how about giving only knowledgable people or moderators access to leaving feedback so that way we can know which spells are fluff such as the vampires and mermaids etc... and which ones have stood the test of time. i totally agree with you that it greatly depends on the skill and energy of the caster however as you mentioned some spells are impossible no matter how powerful the caster is. so it will be helpful for newbies to know which spells have a potential to work and which do not.
i hope you understand my point and i honestly love this site and find all the people super helpful its just that when i browse the spells i wonder how credible they are.
hmm I would have thought if someone commented on one of the fantasy spells going: '' yes! it worked I am now a vampire'' it would be quite obvious for all the serious people on this site that they're not being serious
Spellsofmagic's spell collection was meant to provide tones of different spells to members and allow them to rate them according to what they think of them (the way the were written mostly and at times their content andor their effectiveness).
It would probably spam the website if everyone could comment or leave a feedback.
This is a spell collection, not an open forum. As mentioned before the reason we have the option to rate the spells is to provide a symbolic feedback of each spell and express your general idea(s) about it.
I also doubt it should be given to knowledgeable people only (nor to anybody else) as I believe that would cause superiority issues and it wouldn't really contribute anything to the site - that would be useless and probably very rare.
There's a difference between spell collections to open forums.
Anyway, we dealt with the rating system the way it is - no leaving of feedbacks, and we're totally fine with it, adding a commenting system would be incredibly unnecessary.
We'll that really sucks because if you practiced a spell and it worked isn't that the ideal is to let others know that way you can use your own judgement on if it really worked or not what good is it if you can't let people know that just lets them know that the more you practice the better your spell will be and spells do work but with hard work
