This is a short explanation of the main kinds of potions, or tinctures, and how long they have until they must be used(shelf/fridge life). Enjoy, ;)

INFUSIONS- (24hrs) - Better for delicate parts. 1tbsp herb to 3tbsp water / 3oz to 1-1.5 cups water. - - Warm water first, then add herbs. Proceed to boil, then steep for 10 minutes.

DECOCTIONS- (2-4 weeks) - Used on barks, roots and berries. 4oz to 1oz. - - Chop herbs very fine, cover with cold water. Boil, cover, and simmer.( now you can add delicates if you want), Steep.

TINCTURES- (2+ years) - Much more potent than teas. Recommended to use clear alcohol to ferment ingredients. 4oz finely chopped herbs to .75 cup alcohol to 2 cups water. - - Mix ingredients in air tight jar, shake well. Keep in warm dark place for at least 2 weeks, shake every other day.( sunlight may have negative effects).
