I want to try writing a spell and I'm pretty good with poems. Would making my spell a poem help?

Spells don't have to been in poems or rhyme, they can be written in any type of way you want

When writing spells i have had succes with both but i find that if i focus too much on making a ryhme then what im doing may become complicated. Keep it as simple and clear as possible. Sometimes you may have a specific intent in mind but change the words to make them ryhme and some effect is lost. If the words come to you that way first then its not as if you are trying to force it. Make sure no other elemdnt that may be more important in the spell gets lost because you want to feel good about the poem you have written. They are good for ritual when showing love and gratitude but not needed for what you are attempting to be understood.

Spell craft is tricky. You have to balance flow with word choice. I am going to say that you should probably just try and see what's best for you.
The two major parts flow and word choice. The power and magnitude is really up to you to preform, but with each variation it might be easier or harder to do so.

The real trick to writing a spell is to judge what it is for. If it is a one time use spell then whatever floats your boat, but if you plan to put it in your longe time collection then you should put more effort into it.
Long story short just practice what you think is best.

If I could have composed that any more poorly I should get an award. Anywho you should still get the idea, just practice and try different techniques.

You really need to be careful about how you word things. That is very very important. Don't think that just because you are creating poetry it allows for poetic license. Many times spells are taken very literally in a direct way. There was someone about a year ago here that made a tea to create happiness and gave it to his mother to drink. She lost her job within a few days, a job that made her miserable but still paid the bills and was a necessity. His wording was to get rid of anything that threatened that happiness.

That's the number one reason spells fail. People do not truly consider what they want and the best way to get it. It is not always as simple as it looks. You really have to think ahead, a lot like playing chess.
