I'm a little bit new to Wicca, but I've been studying it a lot, thanks to my Wiccan friend who let me borrow a book about it. My dad's okay with the fact that I'm a Wiccan, my sister could care less, but I'm afraid to tell my Christian mom. I eased up a little bit on Wicca to her, and she said that she believes Wicca is evil. I don't want to hide my beliefs from her, because she's my mom, and it's against the Wiccan Rede. I could try to explain Wicca to her, but she might not listen. She's set on her opinion. This may be off topic of the main threads (teachers, spells, etc), and I'm terribly sorry. Anyways, does anyone have any advice to tell her that I'm a Wiccan? Sorry about the long post, too.
sorry to hear about your mom being against it. perhaps if you tried sitting your whole family down, since your dad and sister are fine, it might make your mother listen, if even a little. write up a report of sorts, making sure you keep returning to the point Wicca is not evil, there is no devil in the craft, that the 'horned god' is more of a 'stag god' with antlers, not devil horns, and it is strictly forbidden to cause harm to living beings [human, plant, or animal] explain why you choose this path, why it completes you, and why you wish to convert to it. also explain why you are telling her this, and why you are hoping she understands. if she comes up with some type of compromise [say go to church on Christmas and Easter, or speak with her priest] go for it. she might be hoping you change your mind, but it can show her you're really serious about this.
if she says no and you must stop, i don't know your family life [divorced, married, father is away a lot on work] so i can't say what you should do, but if your parents are both together, ask them to talk it over, or go with your fathers side. just be careful. meditate on your decision instead of going with the choice fuelled by emotions.

your mom would still love you no matter what you believe. my mom loves me and im a gay druid on my real dad's side, but didnt know about magic till i was doing gardening when all others plants would die mine was growing like wild flowers
my grandma on dad's side taught me a trick to keep flowers grow all year round even though they only supose to blum once a year
