Can't dream of loved one?

What does the inability to dream of a loved one, despite having had strong feelings for the longest time, mean? I just...can't. And it's sad.

I don't think it's sad.

It's relatable to me. I've had the strongest feelings for someone for almost 3 years now. I've only dreamt about them at least twice.

Then again, your dreams are just random messages. You can prepare for lucid dreaming, and then create your own scenario to where you see your significant other.

I'm glad you understand what it's like...I've only really dreamt about them, twice.

I would really like to step into lucid dreaming...it's not to say that I want to develop some unhealthy habit of 'rejecting' reality and constantly escaping into another world, but I feel every once in a while it would be nice to have peace of mind, in one's own personal world.

It really doesn't mean anything that you can't dream of a loved one. I seldom dream of my husband and we've been married over 30 years. It just happens sometimes.

Remember that dreams are simply the mind's way of working through the issues of the day in symbolic terms. So you might never see anyone at all that you recognize in your dreams if there isn't an issue going on.

I used to worry about it, thinking it could that I don't love that person "enough"...and when I had my crushes, I would have dreams of them pretty often, which makes it ironic.

I am not worried about it, now. But it would've been beautiful...I am curious as to what it could've meant, though.
