Crystal balls and sun

I've recently started doing crystallomancy and I have a quick question. I've heard that direct sunlight can be damaging to the usefulness of a crystal ball. However if I close the shades and some softened light passes through them, will this also cause damage if I bring out my crystal ball to do a reading?

Leaving your crystal ball in sun for entire day might cause fire ,especially if you left it on window sill and it got very hot in there. Then if it is colored one the colors might fade, and if it gets hot and cools down too fast it might crack. Then if too much light shines through it it will be too bright for your eyes to stare for long ,and there is going to be a lot of reflection ,which most find disruptive. Also you will tire your eyes fast too.I always have read that scrying with water and crystal ball is done via candle light.Besides you will be less distracted if it is done this way.I certainly have never done water scrying under very strong ,bright and harsh day light.

If you are asking if it will get cloudy and turn into an amethyst the answer is no. That only happens in nature.
