I'm looking for some feedback on spell layering. I've experimented with this with no negative effects to report (to date!) but I've heard others warn of possible negative consequences. I mainly work with candle magick/ visualization and projection techniques.
Yes.. spell layering is using more than one spell to achieve the required result. So perhaps you could use a poppet spell followed by a candle magick spell to strengthen the overall result. Opinions seem to be very divided about using this approach.
There is a theory that the two spells could react and change or cancel out the desired result so I was wondering if anyone had experience of this. There's another theory that I've encountered that if you repeat the same spell the second one could cancel out the first one.
Intent, as long as you don't program the spell to misfire, it will not misfire.
You can use two spells of the same type, but I do not recommend it because it would be a waste.
If you want to put effort into increasing chances, merge the spells into one.
The only way you would cancel out a spell you have done with another is you want them to.
I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one experimenting with this!
I enjoy using blends of spells in concert with one another. These help refine the intent of the whole ritual.
For example, a single love spell is good for drawing love - ANY love - your way. If you combine it with a negativity banishment spell, it ensures that the lovers who reveal themselves to you will be positive influences. Then, to finish it all up, you can cast an erotic spell to ensure that sparks will fly in the bedroom.
However, I only cast one spell a day, if I cast any at all, and only on the days and in the hours in which it is most auspicious. I've made projects of spell layering extend over an entire week - the love spell on a Friday, the negativity banishment on a Saturday, and the erotic spell on a Tuesday. Thus, the influence of Venus for love, Saturn for breaking bad habits/dealing with negative energies, and Mars for sex magic makes all three spells meld into one powerful enchantment.
The most spells I've ever layered is five over the span of two weeks. It was very, very potent.
Blackbeldam it's strange you should mention using this strategy for love spells to increase their potency because that's exactly what I've been delving into. Like you I limit my spells to one a day and as I've progressed through the week I've felt a significant serge in the amount of energy I'm tapping into. Please let me know how this works out for you.
