Spells are a ritual, not just repeating commands... and to get into the ritual there are things you should do to get ready for it... Since this is a huge question I will start you up with something you could start practicing right away!
You should start by "grounding yourself" on a quiet room, you can google grounding exercises... followed up by a meditation to allow you to clear your mind of external worries and just concentrate on the reason you are doing the spell for. You should be able to clearly set your intention and "see" in your mind the end result of your spell.
It seems short and silly but this part is extremely important and it takes time to get a good handle on it, which comes with practice!

There is a correct way to casting a successful and a wrong way. There's actually 7 parts to casting a successful spell.
When done in this exact same way, you have successful spells that alter your life for the highest good.
I have a website in my profile area that explains in more detail the steps.
For any spell to work following conditions must be met:
- spell itself must be possible(throwing fireballs, controlling weather, teleportation, time traveling and so on are just fluff)
- intention is extremely important as even a smallest spec of doubt will seriously weaken if not neutralize casting of spell
- control of ones energy(no need to explain this one I hope)
- concentration/focus
And that is about that, everything else is just a variation or focusing tool(best to stick to them as its pretty much impossible to cast some of the spells without them to assist you)

Well, if you're serious about learning how to do magic and with starting from the rock-bottom then you don't start out by casting spells, you start out by learning how and why magic works.
You see, there is no such thing as an "easy" spell or a "beginner" spell. One either understands how magic works and has mastered the basics...in which case the magic will work..or you haven't done that sort of work..and no spell will work no matter how "easy" it seems.
Casting a successful spell involves much more than finding some spell on the internet or in a book, saying some words, lighting a candle, waving a wand of any of that sort of thing. In order for magic to work you need to understand how and why it works in the first place. Grounding and centering, visualization, focus and intent, energy manipulation, etc are all necessary first steps to even begin to have a chance at a spell actually working...and more importantly to prevent a spell from back-firing on you.
So, my advice for anyone who is truly serious is to start by reading a few books and practicing the exercises those books will give you. Once you have mastered the basics you won't need anyone to give you spells, you'll be able to create your own spells that will be far more effective than anything you find on the net. Here's the books I suggest:
