Dream Calculations
This is where the actual calculations come in, and brace for impact, this can be a bit tricky. These calculations take into account the average Sleep Cycle throughout an eight hour sleep period, the Planetary Hours through the days of the week, and something I call the Zodiac of the Hours, which is what happens when you divide an hour into the 12 Signs of the Zodiac (5 minutes each).
Here are some sources that will be pertinent to understanding the rest of the post.

Premise of Horologium Nyx Calculations:
According to this idea, the REM (Rapid Eye Movement) stage of sleep is a doorway into a world created by the Horologium Nyx, but this world takes on the attributes given to it from the Planets and the Zodiac through the Planetary Hour and the Sign of the Zodiac from that hour to determine what that dream world will be like.
The Zodiac of the Hours has a simple premise, which I have charted below; in this chart I have also included the logic behind determining the Sign of the Year by translating the years used in the Chinese Zodiac cycle into the Western Zodiac (this will come into play later):
Sign # | Month | Zodiac Sign | Element | [Chinese Sign (Year)] | Time of Hour
I..............April............Aries...............F(c)........ [Rat (2008)] --------------h:00 ~ h:04
II.............May ............Taurus...........E(f)......... [Ox (2009)] ---------------h:05 ~ h:09
III............June............Gemini..........A(m)....... [Tiger (2010)] ------------h:10 ~ h:14
IV...........July..............Cancer..........W(c)....... [Rabbit (2011)] ----------h:15 ~ h:19
V............August.........Leo.................F(f)........ [Dragon (2012)] ---------h:20 ~ h:24
VI...........September..Virgo..............E(m)...... [Serpent (2013)] --------h:25 ~ h:29
VII..........October........Libra..............A(c)....... [Horse (2014)] -----------h:30 ~ h:34
VIII........November....Scorpio.........W(f)........ [Sheep (2015)] ----------h:35 ~ h:39
IX..........December....Sagittarius....F(m)....... [Monkey (2016)] --------h:40 ~ h:44
X...........January........Capricorn......E(c)........ [Rooster (2017)] --------h:45 ~ h:49
XI..........February......Aquarius........A(f)......... [Dog (2018)] -------------h:50 ~ h:54
XII.........March...........Pisces............W(m)...... [Boar (2019)] ------------h:55 ~ h:59
*F = Fire; E = Earth; A = Air; Water = Water; (c) = cardinal; (f) = fixed; (m) = mutable
Now that this is out of the way, to better understand how these components affect the Horologium, I will use a dream of mine and the calculated dream cycle pattern as a sample to demonstrate how these calculations are made and how they apply.
Here is the entry from my dream journal from the night after I made the Horologium breakthrough; the breakdown of the five cycles was theoretical based on noticable gaps in the dream narrative in which I presumed that a nonREM cycle had occured:
" [All times are in EST (Eastern Standard Time)]
Dream Cycle I: 4:00am~4:30am (Venus in Aries)
Went back to Oregon, where Megan's (friend's) family was helping me with the journey
Arrived in a forking road with plains to my left and forest to my right
Kids were just getting off school and I felt like a stranger
I wondered which way to go and was led to a cemetery in front of a grave marker
Dream Cycle II: 5:45am~6:20am (Mercury in Capricorn)
It was a statue with a large celtic cross on it with what may have been Latin on it
There was an old and probably homeless woman asking me where I got my clothes
I think she thought I too was homeless, and I felt isolated at the time
I went off along the road next to a bunch of bikers where I felt more comfortable
Dream Cycle III: 7:30am~8:10am (Saturn in Libra)
We ended up in a hiking crew alongside Megan's family in an artificially desolate forest
People had cut down trees until their wood littered the ground, nothing grew anymore
There was garbage and about a foot or two of dead wood all over the ground
We hiked down a steep hill using the large root systems that were just large enough
Dream Cycle IV: 8:45am~9:35am (Jupiter in Capricorn)
In the end they were incapable of helping the forest, and there were bugs under the rubble
We were staying in a tent, and it felt comfortable, even homely
Megan's mother was showing how compact her gear was, and talking about home
It felt comfortable until the rain came and everything was cold and wet
Dream Cycle V: 10:00am~10:15am (Sun in Aries)
We were walking around talking about how to restore the forest
Man who led the crew was talking about how people had tried to restore it in the past
They tried picking up the garbage, planting trees, they danced and painted flowers (stars?)
We tried to start restoring the original forest by clearing the rubble and planting trees"
Here are the calculations I had made to theorize the times used in determining the REM cycles above based on the Sleep Cycle chart from the Lucid Dreaming page linked above:
"Bed time: 2:30am EST
Wake time: 10:30am EST
02:30am + 01:30hrs = 04:00am
04:00am + 01:45hrs = 05:45am
05:45am + 01:45hrs = 07:30am
07:30am + 01:15hrs = 08:45am
08:45am + 01:15hrs = 10:00am"
Here is the equation that I used to determine the times used where:
t(bed) = bedtime
t(rem [1-5] ) = REM Cycle
t(wake) = waking time
t(bed) = t(rem1) - 01:30hrs [For use in determining when to go to bed based on sleep cycle]
t(rem1) = t(bed) + 01:30hrs
t(rem2) = t(rem1) + 01:45hrs
t(rem3) = t(rem2) + 01:45hrs
t(rem4) = t(rem3) + 01:15hrs
t(rem5) = t(rem4) + 01:15hrs
t(wake) = t(rem5) + 00:15hrs
Based on these calculations I created a sleep plan for tonight based on this data in an attempt to replicate last night's dream by seeing if entering a REM phase during Mercury in Capricorn would return me to the same dream world including an alternative if I couldn't get to sleep at the original time:
Desired REM Pattern
t(rem1) = 12:45am (Mercury in Capricorn)
t(bed) = 12:45am-01:30hrs = 10:15pm (Sun in Cancer)
t(rem1) = 10:15pm+01:30hrs = 12:45am (Mercury in Capricorn)
t(rem2) = 12:45am+01:45hrs = 02:30am (Mercury in Libra)
t(rem3) = 02:30am+01:45hrs = 04:15am (Saturn in Cancer)
t(rem4) = 04:15am+01:15hrs = 05:30am (Jupiter in Libra)
t(rem5) = 05:30am+01:15hrs = 06:45am (Mars in Capricorn)
t(wake) = 06:45am+00:15hrs = 07:00am (Sun in Aries)
Alternative REM Pattern
t(rem1) = 02:45am (Mercury in Capricorn)
t(bed) = 02:45am-01:30hrs = 01:15am (Venus in Cancer)
t(rem1) = 01:15am+01:30hrs = 02:45am (Mercury in Capricorn)
t(rem2) = 02:45am+01:45hrs = 04:30am (Saturn in Libra)
t(rem3) = 04:30am+01:45hrs = 06:15am (Mars in Cancer)
t(rem4) = 06:15am+01:15hrs = 07:30am (Sun in Libra)
t(rem5) = 07:30am+01:15hrs = 08:45am (Venus in Capricorn)
t(wake) = 08:45am+00:15hrs = 09:00am (Mercury in Aries)
I will continue to post on this information and my results on here where possible. Thank you for your time in hearing me out in this theory as it could carry wondrous fruit for future cognitive research and insight into the nature of the mysterious field of Oneirology (study of dreams).
