What so you find are your most used crystals and stones in your work. I would like to plan a trip to pick some up and want to make sure I get ones that are useful.
Gray hematite, but that's because I'm personally ungrounded a lot.
Most people swear by clear quartz, or white quartz. Note that quartz is THE most abundant rock in the earth's crust, so new age shops usually charge too much for it. But if your intuition is really taken by it, then go on ahead.
I'm also a fan of geode slices, but between the two above (grounding versus all-purpose) let your own preferences lead you. Most modern gemstone lore goes by colors.
I use jet and or obsidian to protect from negativity energy. Tiger's eye in various colors. Clear quartz is used to amplify and also associated with any element. Moonstone when doing moon work particularly full moon. Amethyst and red Jasper. Stones and crystals are much like herbs many uses and finding the right ones are important. Letting you intuition be your guide helps a lot
Jasper, ruby, serpentine, amethyst, rose quartz, crystal quartz, bloodstone, and obsidian are my personal favorites.
Where will you be visiting? What are you looking to do with what you gather? Just like with herbs, there are several stones/crystals that have similar properties, and purposes. Research what's in the area your visiting, and see what will work best for what your planning on using it for.
Thank you all! I go to a cave attraction to pick up stones and with winter coming it's an hour drive now, I want to go and do a bit of a stock up. That way if there is anything I may need hopefully I will have it on hand. The stones and crystals there are really well priced. I always make sure to do a cleansing on them though because they are open to all to touch. Thank you so much for all of the imput you have provided.
I have a strong affinity for labradorite, selenite, opal, moonstone, obsidian, moss agate, sodalite, rose quartz, and amber stones.
I like to use labradorite and selenite together when meditating -- very powerful spiritual stones that aid psychic perception and deepen my connection with not only the astral & outside stuff, but also my own being. Selenite is like a pillar of light, and Labradorite has this beautiful murky glow to it.
I've found that different stones connect most with different people. There are some stones that have never gone well with my energy, but are /the/ go-to stone for others. Likewise, there are stones that I will swear by, but others feel no connection to.
That said, my favorite crystals to use are;
