I tried finding my spirit guide when I was very young and inexperienced. To sum it up lightly, I summoned a nasty spirit and it soured me on the idea of guides or guardians of any sort.
Now I'm older and seeing what I did wrong in that situation. I hear the guide chooses the person, correct? How do I go about finding my guide? What if I just don't have one, because none chose me?
This situation is not urgent by any means, so take your time with replies. I'd also really loved to hear your experience with finding your guide and what you learned.
I started off surrounded by negativity, which was why I went looking for a guide out. By my experience, though, the only way out of that is through. So, I did start off with getting hounded by some nasties, and then confronting them. It didn't need to be a battle, even, just confronting them made them go away. This was probably because they existed where the spiritual and the psychological interfaced. It was only after that confrontation that I began to receive more positive presences.
The guides might not only choose the person, but when they appear to that person. You can still make an effort to find them, but I didn't think that I had any either. It just wasn't the right time.
One way I recommend is through guided meditations. Or, if you can imagine the best place you like to be in. Even though you imagine being there, leave part of your mind open to somebody else being there. Even if it's a nasty one, the appearance can be a clue as to what sort of being fits in your life. That's one way that nasty spirits can still be guides. You can also shift your focus to fine-tune that nasty ones should keep out, and remain otherwise open-minded.
It makes sense that I don't really need a guide in my life at this moment.
And yeah, I have experience with nasty spirits. I actually woke up this morning with one staring me in the face. I stayed calm and told it to go away while shielding myself, and it vanished.
The last time I tried finding a spirit guide, I did a bad job. I took no protections for myself and I was way too needy. I had no spirit experience.
Honestly, meditating helped me find my spirit animal :) If you're talking about a different type of guide, then I found mine (ironically) using a Ouiji Board. P.S. don't ever do that. They protected me from a lot of bad spirits and happily answered all my questions. They also love Early Grey tea :3
Maybe that can help?
I found sitting in a open room alone helps I was alone at home yesterday and my spirit guide came up to me and started to talk to me also from experience don't be sarcastic around them because some take it offensively because they don't get it.
If you want to know anything else I specialise in spirits and guardian spirits
Austine, it cones down to meditation. Some may tell you that your guide is a separate entity, or an ancestral spirit, or an aspect of yourself (higher or lower self some may say).
But it is ultimaty according to your own belief and personal experiences.
What helped me find my spirit animal was meditation, so it can help you find your spirit guide. What I found was that I actually looked up "find my spirit animal" and I found some videos of relaxing atmospheric sounds, along with someone guiding you through your meditation to find your animal. I am 100% sure you can find videos that can help you with that :) I'll post one that I find!
