those are great basic information resources you should look into before casting. magick is a natural energy, you need to feel the flow of this energy before you can cast because you need to charge and focus it for a spell to work. meditation is something many people suggest. even if you're not casting it's a good thing to do. don't worry about shutting out all thoughts, the key is to relax and let the thoughts flow, let whatever comes to your mind ass by, instead of focusing on the thought and starting a dialogue in your head. start for just 30 seconds and slowly work your way up.

when you are ready to cast, i suggest a simple candle spell because the only item is a candle, then you need to charge energy, focus on the task and visualize your desired outcome, and the spell relies more on you and less on the extra energy in the items. good luck to you.

Well what do you feel like? What interests you? I began by reading Wicca for Life by Raymond Buckland, I made a book of shadows, started meditating more frequently, then told my mom, and finally started holding circle. From there it snowballed into a lot of study so I don't remember exactly. Of course, if you're not Wiccan you might want a different beginner's guide.

I suggest figuring out some basic information [see my links above] and try to figure out what you want and go from there.
