A lot of you may have seen American Horror Story season 3, Coven. And in that particular season they do so much wrong. Half of the stuff they do in that season is impossible or unrelated to real magick, but i was wondering, since i'm gonna start a coven soon, is there a "supreme"? Or designated leader?

If you think that what they do on a Tv show should be real magick then maybe you shouldn't be running a coven in the first place.
Everyone today wants to start their own coven, I will never understand why when there are so many active covens that are amazing both online and in real life.
What is it that you are referring to by a supreme leader? In life? In a coven ?
No, I'm not saying that what they do is real magick, i'm saying just the opposite of that. They practice flight and telekinesis, which is obviously impossible, however they are all part of a coven and have a "supreme" or leader. Since i'm getting settled in my group, is it best to have a leader? Is it best to have everyone lead?
Most covens have a priest and/or priestess, so yeah, there is usually a leader. Covens here on site also have council members, which are also a form of leadership in the coven.

I suggest not make a coven. Why because Covens are hard work they require allot of attention and allot of time and also allot of experience with magick,rituals and such. Many Covens have initiations. There are no "Supremes" in a Coven there are High Priest and High Priestesses and some do have a council.
There's nothing wrong with making a small "coven" or book club with your friends. It will encourage a closer learning environment. You can feed off each other, get ideas, and maybe do a few practices together.
There doesn't need to be an official leader in every "coven" structure, especially if it's just a group of witches hanging out. But it would be good to delegate and agree on what to do. An hour of planning is good for the soul!
A coven is just a group of like-minded people who often have similar interests in culture or religion. No need to answer to anyone for this. Just keep in mind sometimes new covens when they're first established publicly might run into some legal trouble depending on the area.
A book that helped me get a grasp of how some covens are run is The Witches Coven by Edain McCoy. A friend gave it to me a long time ago when I first started leading a coven for the first time online. Though it's written by a Wiccan leader it's points and ideas can be very helpful to those of any path in thinking about how you desire a coven to be.
Running a coven or circle is not easy and should not be taken lightly. Good luck in whatever it is you choose to do!
