Charm Casters

I came across a friend a few months ago and he says he's apart of this weird group called Charm Casters. If you wish, you can get something from them but you have to go through trials. I was wondering if any body knows or heard of this group before now. Does anybody know if this group is a real group?

I wouldn't take them seriously especially considering the term "Charmcaster" is from a cartoon.

It's a character. But the whole "Go through Trials" should be a red flag. I wouldn't trust anyone offerings spiritual work unless they are either trusted by you or the community.

This sounds like one of those really bad tropes commonly seen in Fantasy Shows, Books and Movies. A group of 'Witches' which will trade their services only if you prove that you're the purest of heart etc.

Or some other convoluted 'Witch Tropes' which revolve around some form of proving or that some how practitioners of magic are meant to guard and guide fate.

'Charm Caster' as a term for a practitioner is legitimate in the idea they cast Charms for people and for themselves, but, we already have a name for those people - Cunning-Folk or Wise Woman, Goode Witch, Wizard etc from Folk Magic practices in Europe (Specifically the UK and surrounding areas)
