right i already meditate but i was wondering if certain types of meditation are better to do then others for different things and what things they are better for? another question is how do i clear my mind like i can mostly clear it but stuff comes in and i cant seem to get rid of it.
Practice whatever type of meditation feels right for you. Experiment with a few different kinds.
A lot of people focus on one thing during meditation to help rid all other thoughts this can either be your breath, something with a constant rhythm like the same note played over and over or even a smell. Some allow the thoughts to come and go without thinking too much on them, just let them pass through. Your mind isn't used to doing nothing so it takes practice to get into that shape of mind.

your body just sit and relax and take a deep breath and calm.Imagine your head inside a black box and is impermeable you are out of the box and go and they can not return.
You are the thoughts that intrude into this method of black box out. After a few minutes they realize that you really were away from your mind and you are very relaxed and you can easily focus your mind and think only pleasant things. After that it is your decision whether you want to practice concentration, or engaged in visualization and imagery to pull your spiritual exercises

the meditation i practice is zazen meditation and last night i meditated outside in the light of the moon and i was able to keep my mind blank and found a deeper peace if you understand me.
In my path meditation is used to control your mind and thoughts and to step back from the busy life you live to be able to tune in to your spiritual self. There are many types of meditation. Focus meditation can build visualization skills. Chanting can use sound, you can even meditate while walking.
I don't know if this will help, but I'm pretty practiced in meditations. Here's how I clear my head and meditate. I got it from a book and adapted it to make it virtually universal.
Take three deep breaths. With each breath, cast away any distracting thoughts, as though shedding skin.
Take seven more breaths. With each breath, imagine your chakras opening, a flood of light and energy pouring through them and throughout your body.
When you feel you're ready, open your mind's eye and focus on whatever you wish to achieve. This may be discovering aspects of yourself, communing with a deity, helping a friend, or cursing an enemy.

Well you don't have to clear your mind, you need to relax and let the thoughts flow. [Some meditations you need to focus on certain thoughts like healing bad memories] it deprends on what you're hoping to accomplish, if you just want to meditate and relax, you could try regular meditation, walking meditation, or look for guided meditations to help.
