It is always recommended (I have found anyway), that you study and learn by yourself. This is most commonly due to them having a singular opinion, while books and personal study allows you to get information from many sources with many different opinions. They may also have religious beliefs that they incorporate into their study, or they may only follow a singular path, by studying alone you are able to choose your own path, your own religious beliefs (if you want any at all) and so at first it is always best to find your feet in the craft, on your own.

That being said there are lots of people here that can help you learn and study, point you in the right direction and offer guidence, so you are never truly learning alone.

I hope you find your path! :) You're welcome to message me if you need anything.

And H2O is right, it seems to be more beneficial to learn yourself.
Blessed Be.
