I wish there were no ads on this website. The ads distract from the content and I don't like them. Other than that I really like spells of magic.com so far!!!!!

The ads keep the site free.

wisewof64, please remember that using extra punctuation is against the rules of this site. Only one punctuation mark at the end of a sentence is necessary.

Either we have ads or Pet could consider making the site pay to use. Do you really want to shell out money? This site being a free source of information is what makes it so great. That and the genuine sense of community and valued experiences gained.

no service is ever really free. the person providing the free service needs some form of compensation [if this was a community center they need to pay rent, hydro, water, and a slew of other things all paid for by donations] even facebook, youtube, and many other popular 'free' websites have ads [some might be hidden better than others, but there's ads] the site has, what, one big ad on the side of the page? ignore them. [or if you find it inappropriate contact Pet about that specific ad]

while i don't use one [so i can't help you find any] there's always ad blockers if it's so distracting for you. [but if people start using them, then the site will have to charge so i don't recommend it but you do you. just remember actions have consequences]

There was a bug which was showing some people too many ads and showing ads that covered over spells. This should be fixed now.

If you saw ads that covered spells before, please check now to see if that is fixed or keeps happening and let me know if it still happens.

But yeah, ads are required to pay for the expenses of hosting. We serve millions of pages each month and usually do around 1 TB of data transfers, so the cost of running such a large site is not trivial.
