Jobs

I am wondering something, could we use magick for jobs? Could we put our knowledge and skills to good use for others? Make money from it? This may sound silly but I think it is entirely possible. What are all of your opinions on it?

Some people make money, Tarot reading for example.

Many witches will do readings and spells for others for monetary compensation. However, of the witches I know that do this, all have regular paycheck jobs as well because they can't survive on magic only jobs.

You will need to be careful if you intend to take up this line of work. There are laws in many countries about just what you can and cannot do. You can be sued for this as you can be in another field and it is far harder to prove your case in this field. As results are not easily documented and we all know that the same spell done by different people will yield widely different results.

"Few people are aware that it is actually illegal in Pennsylvania to engage in things like fortune telling, palm reading, tarot card reading or astrology for monetary compensation. It is also illegal to charge someone money to caste either positive or negative spells or hexes. All of these forms of magic and superstition fall under the broad term "fortunetelling" under Pennsylvania law. The crime of fortunetelling is a third degree misdemeanor punishable by up to one year incarceration and a $2,500 fine pursuant to section 7104 of the Pennsylvania Crimes Code." http://www.mattmlaw.com/blog/2013/10/obscure-crimes-fortune-telling-is-illegal-in-pennsylvania.shtml

Now, most of those deal with mediumship, so you may think spell work wouldn't get you into trouble in those areas, however, spell work is covered by others areas including, but not limited to, medical practices, consumer protection act, and the above mediumship laws.

If this is something you think you want to do to make money, I suggest a serious amount of study on the laws of your area to make sure you are not getting yourself more trouble than you need.

It isn't illegal. It is a matter of being able to prove that what you did and the results of that are real. During the late 1800s early 1900s there was a Spiritualist movement in many areas of the world. People claimed to be able to contact the dead, cure disease, and cast spells for anyone that could pay. They bilked millions out of people. The people felt the results were not what they should have been. Therefore laws were created to protect against charlatans. Also, it is illegal to give medical advice or treatment in many countries unless you are an actual doctor and can prove it. If you are not careful how you word what you are doing or how you do it you are subject to getting sued for violating these laws.
