To find an apprenticeship can be tricky. It depends on what it is you are interested in learning.
IF you are looking for general teachings of casting spells, rituals and such, you can do a lot of research on your own. IF you are looking for one on one guidance the age of technology has allowed us to reach people from all over the world. IF you really want someone near you to be able to work under and learn from, I would scout out some of the shops in your area. There are many places that sell gems, herbs and other items often used in spell casting. You will need to get over the fear often associated with the taboo of casting. If you speak of it respectfully and express an interest you will be supposed as to how many people out there use spells and other means of spiritual practices.
Networking is a dying art in real life. So many of us are now relying on social media and other web interfaced platforms to relat to others. Take this site for example. People from all over the world are able to speak to you in this manner. But to really develop those personal face to face connections, to actually shake a hand and feel the energy around someone, that is something very special. You will need to take initiative and go out there and network. I happen to be in a store the other day, in a rural small town in Maine. I was buying some crystals and the man ringing me up (expert classic goth look) asked about the crystals. I smiled and told him about my collection, what I use each for and how I was going to cleanse them and make some moon water on the next full moon. He was super excited to be able to speak to someone about that sort of thing as he practices alone and feels isolated. Casting isn't anything to be ashamed or embarrassed about. It is a way to connect yourself to nature and your surroundings. By speaking up and reaching out you can develop a real life network of people in your area. I now have his name and number as a connection and he has mine. He knows my background is in fertility and he can now pass along my name to anyone he might encounter that is in need of guidance in that area.
If you really want a teacher, you will need to go out and seek one. It may take a while but I am sure you will find connections and eventually you will find the right person. In the mean time I would encourage you to start researching on your own and make connections here on this site. There are many wonderful individuals on here that are willing to teach. You will just need to seek out one that fits what it is you are looking to study.
Your best options are witchvox and meetup, and, as stated above, seeking out people at local stores. At the very least, you may find a study group for a specific topic or tradition which interests you. It will be a door opened up for meeting people with some similar interest, and may lead to finding a mentor.
