How do i make an altar?

hi, im new to magick, but i found several spells i want to try, but they require an altar to preform them on, and i need to make a realtively cheap one, becouse im native american, i am poor.

You don't need an altar or any items to cast spells, these things are additions that are nice to have but aren't requirements.

I am assuming that these spells requiring an altar is because they want youto be in a sacred space or certain mindsetthat an altar can provide during spellwork or ritual.

If you aren't in a position to create an altar at the moment you shouldn't worry about it. You can create an altar over time, you don't need to start with one.

However, if you want to create an altar you can simply make one with an upturned box or small table. You can even make one inside a shoebox. It is simply a space where you can undertake magickal workings. You don't need a permanent altar you can have a semi permanent onethat you use as and when you need.

That is indeed one of the great things about walking a magical path. The symbols and figures one uses are tools, but they aren't requirements. Their importance relies on ourselves and how much importance we give to them. And they are meant to be adapted to our personal processes.

Any single symbol might be a figure of power for one person, but almost meaningless to the next. It is because power lies in the individual. The tools are there to help create a feeling of connection. So long as you use the symbols that have meaning to you then it doesn't matter if you are holding a willow stick or a golden sword.

One small suggestion I might make is to be sure you just keep yourself aware of the possibilities during your daily travels. Be it a feather you see on the ground or a piece of driftwood that 'tells' you it is a wand, ask yourself if it is something you feel a connection to. Personally I have found the most potent symbols find their way to you of their own accord. ... eventually. Be patient and be open to little surprises. ^_^
