Dream Gods and Oneroi

Hey all,

Most of my experiences in magick and deity work has been with Loki, for the purpose of understanding the chaos and unpredictable nature of life, and lifes respectiveinhabitants.

But, I have latelybeen dabbling in on-and-off research into the honouring and worship Greekdeities of dreaming, known to some as Oneroi . Unfortunately, my research attempts are bogged down by advertisements of similarly-named hotels, Neil Gaiman comic bookimages (as beautiful as Sandman is, it does not help me in this field), andoverall generic, unhelpful tripe.

So, I ask you, reader, do you have any advice, recommendations, or articles of aid that can assist me in my research?

Oh, and if it helps, my main interests lie with either Morpheus (the popular one)or Phantasos (the ruler of the more delirious dreams, and imagination as a whole).

Try adding modifiers to Morpheus in your search engine. For instance if I type Morpheus, God into Google it gives me a ton of information from Greek mythology rather than the Neil Gaiman material.

to those of u who think that Morpheus is a god then u r sorely mistaken because he is actually a minor titan although many sources on him don't say that

Here is a link to a recognized respected site by many Hellenists and students of mythology.

Morpheus is a God, not a Titan. I may be wrong, in which case I'd love to see resources and chat about it, but carrying on,there is no such thing as a "MinorTitan".From Chaos came Gaia, and from the two came the Primordial Gods and the Titans. From the Primordial Gods came thePersonifications of Life and from the Titans came the Olympians.Of the chaos sprung Nyx, the Personification of Night, and Erebus her consort and Personification of the Darkness. Between the two they"gave birth" to many children including the twinsThanatos and Hypnos, Thanatos being thefirst born, he became God of Death and Hypnos, being the younger and smaller of the twins, became God of Sleep or"little death".From Hypnos comes Morpheus.
