Magical name help?!

I have a few questions concerning my magical name. First, can a magical name be a word? Meraki is one of my options, and it’s a word that describes me. Also, it fits me and I love how it sounds. Second, can your magical name be multiple words or a first and last name? Two names are warring in my mind (Maren and Meraki both sound right and their meanings fit me) and I was wondering if my magical name could be Maren Meraki. Thanks!

From what I understand, your "magical name" is whatever you want it to be. It's something you choose to call yourself and be called by. So it should be entirely up to you, whether you decide by the sound of it or the meaning of it.

A lot of people, myself included, haven't chosen "magical names" at all. In fact, my personal belief is that any name can be magical, whether it is the name you were given at birth or one you have chosen to use. Just wear it the way you think it should be worn. Be yourself. You define the name, not the other way around.

So in short, I believe you can have a first and last "magical name" if you choose, or any word you would like.

i think of magical names as titles that denote an aspect of your magical self. there can be as many as you choose, though not all of them will have the same weight or resonance with your being.

I have heard of people choosing a magickal first and last name, so that's an option if it feels right to you.

Also, some people choose a public magickal name (one that they can use at festivals and onoine witchcraft groups and the like), and a private magickal name, which they'll only use to refer to themself during practice, or their deities and/or any spirits they work with can use it.

In my opinion, as long as a name resonates with who you are spiritually, it works as a magickal name.

I see no problem with using both names if they feel strongly connected to you.

My input here is that your magical name can be whatever you want. It took me a couple years to truly discover my magical name, but it fits me. Mine is more of a first name-middle name basis, but that's what works. Some people use one word, others use more. It's up to you what your magical name is.
