I have come to SoM yo freshen up my regimen and to finally bring my belief into the light. I have been a believer and practitioner of the magik arts for over 16 years, all done quietly and behind closed doors because of family. I however have hit a point in my life where my beliefs are no longer going to be hidden, nor are my intentions. I have seen too much pain, death, and suffering that justice has grossly fallen short. I have a favorite saying.
"All that evil requires to win is for good men to do nothing, all good requires is a good man willing to do evil."
Yes I am aware it is not pronoun correct, but the sentiment is quite accurate no matter the inserted pronounal preference. For far to long has the good of the world been unable or unwilling to cross the line to gain advantage. Slavery, homophobia, xenophobia, rape, addiction, murder, every one has continued imbalancing the world. My thoughts, my beliefs, and my actions may not make me the most popular practitioner, they may not make me a welcome practitioner, but they will absolutely make a difference in the world, for the benefit and protection for the future.
I think its important to note that more and more people are standing up for the morally ''right''. Whereas the problems in this world derived from exactly as you said, good people, people that empathize and sympathize with others, not doing anything to help. Keeping heads down and mouth quiet.
Welcome to SoM, I really hope your journey is a fruitful one <3
Welcome. While I applaud your efforts with doing "evil" for "the greater good" be cautious not to place your personal biases onto situations. Nature is not good or evil, and good and evil are human concepts [not to say things like child slaves are good, they're not] but to go around cursing things you deem wrong can be a slippery slope. Addiction for example, as someone who has friends and family with addictions [and you could argue things like smart phones and binge watching shows can be addictions] the reason many start down the path to addiction is to fill a void and get lost in the addiction. They are not "evil" even though they may do evil things, should they be cursed/punished for their addiction?
Also, if you plan to curse rapist and murderers [you wouldn't be the first witch to do this] be careful you aren't drinking your own poison. While I don't believe in the Threefold Law giving you bad karma for casting a "negative" spell, you will be charging negative energy to cast the spell, and if you're not careful [ground and cleanse properly] you could slowly build up these bad vibes in your life and it could effect you.
If I were you I would start slow. If there is someone who has wronged you personally in a horrible way start there, otherwise research before casting because people tend to go with emotions and jump on something/someone only to later discover it was innocent [remember how people got mad at that kid for "disrepecting" the native veteran only to discover the kid was harassed by a completely different group and he was nervous with the group forming around him, how his school got bomb threats, he got death threats, how people jumped on a narrative later disproven] I'm sure you can find pagan groups who cast against "evil" people. Two I remember was the cursing of rapist brock turner and the binding of the president from doing harm.
