How is she? Only think I know is years back people was fighting over her books.Its been way to long to remember what the fight was over nor do I really care just wordering are the worth the worth buying or not. One of my ladys and my local occelt store told me to go barrow it from the libray
All I know is that her works are controversial. If you want to read them, I suggest looking for them on sites like pdfdrive.com and b-ok.cc, where they might be available for free. Silver Ravenwolf is not thought well of in the Wiccan community, nor are her books considered at all reliable. Her reputation suffered a great deal and continues to suffer because she claims a Wiccan initiatory lineage she does not have. ( I know that she has done this, and I personally knew both the man who initiated her and the woman who initiated him. Both are now deceased.)
As to her books in particular, they are full of misinformation, bigotry, and just plain nonsense. I also have a problem with the fact that she actively encourages teens to lie to their parent, a clear ethical violation. But there are some long and excellent reviews of her books that explain in more depth why I would never personally recommend her books. These are a few
I won't say don't read her books, but I will say there are much better books out there with far more reliable information in them. A couple of books that I'd suggest as a better place to start out include:
her linage or her personal ethics nothing to me.what I care about is if the stuff work or not.If it would be worth read even If I have to cherry pick stuff. When I read I take what works for me and toss the everything else.I just dont want to spend my time reading the book and not gain anything out of it

Silver Ravenwolf *leans back in rocking chair* back in my day she was far more popular and talked about [i hope everyone read that in an old lady voice because that's how I heard it in my head lol] seriously, when I started studying it was "Raymond Buckland and Scott Cunningham good, Silver Ravenwolf fluffy bunny bad" so being the mature 15 year old I was hanging out with other totally mature 15 year old pagans at the time I would harshly criticize and insult anyone who dared read her trash [despite never actually reading a single book to clarify if it was good or bad. 15 year old hypocrisy]
Today I've read many more books and have mixed feeling on her, I don't recommend her as your first choice just because she's well known to put in fake information and prey on new members [like promising the impossible or selling overpriced spell kits] and I've heard/seen how when those Ravenwolf fans finally learn the truth, many leave the path. On the other hand, she's an easy to access jumping off point. I would suggest finding a less controversial author for your first book, then once you get grounded on the path, check out To Ride A Silver Broomstick [as this is probably her best book] just to make up your own mind on the subject.
My friend had one of her books when I was younger and well it was the first thing that got me really interested in Wicca, I would hardly suggest it to anyone today. There are some things I have picked out of a few of her books, but that information is easily found in other, more beneficial readings.
The first thing my mentor has read to me when I first began. The spells have worked for me, but I believe her etgics and teachings are VERY often misguided.
