Hi, so I had a 14 day candle burning for about maybe 10 days or so. It burned all the way down and its 2am and the bottom broke exploded and was making so much noise and didnt want the paper to catch on fire so i put out the flame with water. I guess my questions are Did I just waste my candle/spell by dousing it with water? Or did the candle not work because it did so? Btw this was a love candle.
I'd like to add that earlier in the day the candle went from one flame it popped crackled danced then became 2 flames then 1 was bigger then the other then became 1 big flame.
generally, blowing out a candle is "canceling" your intentions, as for putting water on it, in this case i dont think so, as you were just avoiding a fire. as for interupting the flames, not my strong suit hopefully someone else will chime in for you.

I heard of a woman once that tried doing a candle love spell, her candle ended up exploding. The person called her up her asking "Are you trying to do some Hoodoo on me?". Turned out he was a practitioner too and had some really strong spiritual protection.
This working may well have been a dud when it burst the glass.
If the wick was very close to the glass, this may well have been the cause, but if the candle was burning centrally, and entirely normal then there may well have been something blocking the working. Generally if a candle explodes like this, with no visible mundane cause, the working is being stopped, or something is holding it back so you putting out the candle with water, likely didn't do anything more.
How was the glass looking up to this point, white, clear, black, sooty, etc? as this can help identify if there was a problem with the working or a weak bottom to the glass.
From a purely physical perspective, the glass cracked because it was heated too much by the flame at the very bottom. This will happen in just about any sort of candle holder. I'm glad you are safe, and it did not spread the fire.
The second larger flame might have been the wax itself igniting, which would have heated the glass even more, and consumed the was more quickly since it was directly burning.
It's because of this sort of thing that people these days may sometimes recommend burning multiple-day candles in a bowl of water, especially if the candle will be left unattended. If the glass breaks, everything will spill into the water, instantly extinguishing it. The dish should be wider than the candle is tall, in case the candle is tipped. And the water should be shallow enough that the jar will not float when the wax level drops. Additionally, the water may help keep the glass cool, preventing it from bursting. This is more a matter of safety, and some others may suggest something like placing the candle on a bed of sand (such as in a bowl or tray) about an inch deep, since it is not flammable, and will absorb any spilled molten wax in the event of a broken jar.
All of that said, it is worth reading the other posts about what signs may have been left about the quality of the intended working. While soot may form because the wick was too tall, shapes and amounts are also sometimes seen as indications if what was going on with the results of your intention, for example.
