So, on my deck to my backyard there is a bird. More specifically a black bird with an orange marking in his wing. I keep seeing it, I'm wondering if this is a sign. I have heard that if you see certain birds or any animal for that matter, that there is a sign. I believe that the gods and goddesses and spirits send certain signs in your life to give you a message.
Off-hand I would not know. Depending on where you live (your profile says you're in the US right now, so I'll go off that), the bird is likely an oriole, an eastern Towhee, or possibly a red-winged blackbird. If any of those species are what you're seeing, perhaps you could research if any of those have meanings attached to them.
Omens orsigns are always a bit tricky, for it's really up to the person themselves to see if it means anything to you. If your a inside person, or somebody who decided to do something different, and went outside than know it's possible that little bird is probably always there. Like it's already been said, it's quite possible that the bird just lives near by, and decided to check out what you were doing.

If it's a sign, and your going through some hard time, or judgment of yourself. Than the bird is probably just telling you, that you don't need to listen to others. As your beautiful on your own.

If it's aTowhee, than sounds to me that you are welcomed to express yourself in a healthy way, and don't let judgment of others get you down.
Gods and goddess might be something you can do in your own time, but also if there is a sign than its more likely. That animal is trying to teach you something, that you may have missed. At least it has been in my experience.
