Hello all, I’m curious about Odins ravens Hugin and Mugin. I woke up today with their names in my mind, and they will not go away. Is this Odin calling me to work with him? I’m also reading American Gods, and he is the Supporting Main Character in that book.
I would personally wait for two more signs from him before deciding if he wants to work with you or not.American Gods is a fantasy book, with some mythology thrown in. It might be a way he's trying to connect to you, but it also might just be day dreaming. Is he yourfavouritecharacter in this book? Do you like his ravens?
Granted my knowledge on Norse mythology is very small, so take my word with a grain of salt.
Or maybe this is a fear of yours, that you might have started to notice. In the mythology Odin did a lot of thighs to gain his knowledge, from hanging upside down a tree to write the runes, or to losing his eyes. "Old Norse Huginn" is thought, while "old Norse Muninn," is Memory. Are you afraid of losing your mind or memory? It might also be a meaning if you are afraid of losing your hard work to somebody else.
If possible ask him to show you two more signs. Songs can get stuck in our heads for days, book characters can do the same thing if we are attracted to them. The following website above has more information about his Ravens.

I definitely like his character, but not necessarily drawn to him. I actually don’t read the book very often, just when I have time to. I’ve noticed I’m drawn to the all father types of gods. The thing is I know nothing of Norse Mythology besides the Loki mythos.
Your probably just attracted to his character. The point of a writer job is to get people to fall in love with their characters so they won't put the book down. This way if there is another book in a series, than they are most likely going to buy the next one. If it's a stand alone, than people are most likely going to talk about it to get other people to buy it.
Please note the next message is based on my own experience so it may be different for everyone. If you had a very good father, or a missing father than you are probably drawn to them because they remind you of what you had or what you hadn't had. For me I have a mistrust of women this is due to living with a mother in the past who had split personality, making it difficult to tell what side would be coming home.
For a long time I was scared of most women in my life. I didn't bond with them as will as I had with the men in my family. I didn't have many female friends growing up, rather hanging out with the guys. It's much the same with spirt work as will. There's a small gap between me and female spirits. Apart of my own fear that I have to learn to heal with time.
If you wish to know more about nose than do some research. There's plenty out there about the Norse Gods, don't listen to the Marvel lore for that is fantasy. Beside personally I think the Norse lore is a lot better than the Marvel comics when it comes to the Gods early lives, and in turn their deaths. I know I have a whole new respect for them when I started research.
