Lost of faith?

Is it normal for one to loose their faith in the universe when they asked for assistance but the person basically did all of the work themselves without help?

Well. You asked for help, and perhaps the assistance given was the strength to do it yourself. That seems like the general trade off. When one does a money spell, they aren't expecting money to fall into their laps, but rather the drive and the means to earn that money. When you ask for help, you typically won't expect the Allfather himself to show up and give you a hand, but rather for the tenacity and strength to see it through. Sounds like you got the help you asked for.

No, not really. I asked the universe to help me find a purpose in my life so that I dont come home from work feeling empty. (At work i help people and make them happy.) If that's the thanks i get, well.

I agree with the above. Motivation and strength is assistance. Maybe if you were looking for something more specific, try specifying it next time. Also remember, though, there is a such thing as too specific. Something like "please give me the motivation to do x" or "please help prevent obstacles that stop me from doing x" might be better things to ask for than something like "I need help in the form of a thousand dollars," for example.

We both posted our replies at the same time, oops. If you're trying something as general as a "purpose" it might be hard to see what the universe is trying to give you. A purpose could come in a very unexpected form that might not be what you're looking for, so I'd recommend specifying what type of purpose. Do you want a hobby? A new friend? Something like that could absolutely be asked for but it's going to take work on your part as well. At times, it may seem like you do all the work because you weren't expecting the type of help you got. I hope that makes some sense.

If you believe we all have a purpose, a meaning for why we exist, then it should go alongside that belief that said purpose will eventually fall into place as we go about our lives. Unless you mean to say that you seek fulfillment, in which case that is what you should ask for.

abundance cannot be earned, given or bestowed, or taken away! It is contentment born of fulfillment and appreciation. We as human beings will sometimes feel down because our emotions tell us that we are un-balanced and need something in return... Abundance surrounds us in all manner of ways, all we need to do is to appreciate what we have fully and give exceptionally to all beings with out expecting a return and watch your abundance grow!

What were you expecting as an answer? Were you expecting a divine being to appear before you, showered in a heavenly glow and announce in a booming voice "you should become a pirate" [or whatever your life's calling is] If that's the case, it rarely happens that way. It's usually far more subtle, like the tale of the man lost at sea who prayed to God to save him. Three boats came by and offered to help the man, but he waved them off, insisting God would save him. The man ultimately died and in heaven, he met God. The man demanded to know why God didn't help him, to which God replied: "I sent three boats." I get the anger and hostility to the "God works in mysterious ways" explanation, but the universe goes for subtly, not a flashing sign pointing to your solution.

It's easier to plan for disaster instead of scrambling to scrape together an emergency kit while your house is on fire. If you have a strong foundation, these lows won't be so tumultuous for you. Start journaling and meditation. Ask yourself the deep dive, soul searching, shadow cleansing question. If you figure out your morals, ethics, and beliefs, build a strong foundation of spirituality, it will be stronger and able to weather the storms of anger and doubt. [plus, it's always fine to take a break, step back from your practice and return later. I'm just saying, turning your back on your faith because your mad will only breed bitterness] take this time to contemplate and build your code of ethics, even if you conclude deities and/or magick isn't a part of your path moving forward, it is wise to question why you do/don't believe such things so when the road gets bumpy, you don't abandon the path and return to old patterns.

Overall, I get how frustrating it is. I've struggled and felt lost. I've gotten mad at my deities and questioned my faith, but because I put in the effort to figure out my morals, build a strong relationship with my deities, and make my practice a daily part of life, those rough times are easier for me to handle.

I understand that it's hard to feel appreciated or even full by helping others. If I can be blunt, for the most part helping others won't do a thing for you in return. When I help someone out, even though it sucks that I will never get great amazing things, I know that I'm helping someone. It may make their day, yes that may not benefit you in any way. However, it's a small positive.

The universe dosent gift people like fairy tales do.

You know, I get the feeling that nothing you do matters. Heck, I paid for a familyI hated to get a warm place to stay, food, clean water, safe transportation. For many years their oldest son bullied my disabled half sister. At the end of middle school he basically sent her to the ER. The family did nothing, kept denying he was wrong, or even treated my family with any respect. I don't forgive them, but I helped them to not suffer on the streets. Why did i do that? I really dont know. All i know is, im not going to get anything in return. I'm even thousands of dollars more poor than before!

I dont live in the best townhouse, I don't get amazing food, I have the most annoying and loud neighbors, I get an okay pay. Am I saying I'm cheerful or getting a huge thank you? Nope. Not even close.

You should find out for yourself what your purpose is.

Blessed be-
