There are different distinctions depending on your definition of amulets and talismans. Some say that amulets are natural objects that function magically while talismans are created and designed by you. Others say that talismans are for attraction while amulets are for banishing and repelling. Some people use the words interchangeably. So, it depends on what definition you choose to follow.

As far as how to make them, that varies as well. Some people will just use objects as found, without any dedication, consecration or magical work. They just rely on the innate magical properties of the object. Others have elaborate rituals, invoking specific forces into the object and focusing it on specific purposes. Others fall somewhere in the middle. My advice to you in regards to creating talismans and amulets (and with pretty much any other magical work) is to take your time, study and practice. If you have to ask how, you are probably not ready to do it yet. And don't trust people on the internet who can post without anything without any credentials, proof or peer review, on a site labeled "for entertainment purposes only". Yes, I include myself in that. There are some very good magical educational programs online. There are probably people around you who can teach you and help you. But, check them out first.
