Heads up for users

I got a message from a user on the site with a blank subject line and only a link in the message box. Do not under any circumstance use the link. The users don't have a "Sketchy" account either. They look like a legit member, with a picture and normal bio. I just delete the scam or similar emails. However, there has been activity. I'm giving the mods and users a heads up in case there are more than 1 of those profiles. Sorry if this is vague but I'd rather not leave it in the dark.

When anything like that happens, please report the mail. This allows the site to keep a record of it and allows the admin/mod team to take appropriate action.

Sadly sometimes our members receive harassing, inappropriate, or threatening e-mails. Understand please that we do not tolerate that on this site. Here is what to do about such thiings:

1. Block the person from sending you more mail by clicking on the "Ignore" tab beneath their message.

2. Save the message in your "Default" folder (This will happen automatically if you do not intentionally delete it.)

3. Send an e-mail to Petrarca, the Site Administrator, at http://www.spellsofmagic.com/profile.html?profile=1&t=ma... and tell him what has happened. He can then take a look at the e-mail in question and take the appropriate action.

Much as we don't like people like this on Spells of Magic, the Moderators cannot take direct action unless they can actually see the e-mail, only Petrarca can do that, so if it is an e-mail then the person who can help is Petrarca.
