Strix

Hi all

Does anyone have more knowledge and how to work with a Strix.

I have do research on it, but I trying to learn where does it fit in my magical path, cause in my day to day life its name/image keeps popping up. And I have not yet found a thread relating to this topic

A bit of searching led me to an academic article about the strix. It isn't magically oriented but a good first step is understanding where they come from, and how they appear in history and lore.

I only did a quick skim, but it seems like the Strix is a creature that begins as a human, which gets metamorphosis (maybe cursed) into an owl-like creature that consumes/craves human flesh and blood.

My first impression is that what they represent seems similar, on the surface anyways, to the vulture. IE; ill omens, death, carrion, etc. I am not sure if they actively hunt humans in their lore, or if they are just attracted by death though.

Strix are known in some beliefs to be abominstions, or cursed beings, however having perverted their natural form with that of a lesser creature.. effectvely barring them from future sspiritual growth. Sometimes they are known to change form at will, snd others simply display traits from both. Either way, it is understood that their spiritual potential cannot exceed that of whichever form is the lesser.
