A family member. Was on vacation. And several people told him he has an old soul. What does this mean? He keeps saying he’s tired. And he’s into past life regressions. And has a power that he’s scared to use. Most of the time his intuition is on point. His brother passed away in June of 2020. And he talks about this more and more. Thanks
His powers are likely hisintuition. As for old soul it's a term used to describe someone who may have been on Earth for a long time so they may have a lot of past life experience on Earth. It can also say that someone is just a bit more mature then others.
The expression "Old Soul" when used in passing or describing someone's personality, generally refers to that individual being wise beyond their years. If you encounter someone that appears to have experienced a great deal in their life, yet they are young, they may be referred to as having an old soul. They don't act immature but rather hold themselves to a higher standard of dignity and respect that isn't often seen with younger individual (simply because of personal growth and developing)
Another aspect is that the individual might be drawn to older times. Say, for example, someone loves the dress and decor of Victorian era, but they can't dress that way now since it is not deemed acceptable to our progressed society. They might be fascinated with this, participate in reenactments, dress slightly Victorian when they can and so on.
Lastly, this could refer to a past life, if one believes in reincarnation. There are some souls (as the previous poster stated) that have been around a long time and have lived many lives through out history. While our conscious does not specifically remember these events (mostly due to the limitations of the hippocampus) our subconscious can sometimes trigger glimpse of familiarity. Think Deja Vu, that feeling that you get when you have been somewhere, seen something or experienced something like this, despite the fact that this is the first time it is occurring (in this life)It very well could be that your Uncle has a long history of life, in terms of his soul. His soul is in fact "old".
It is also believed that souls stay together. So in this life your Uncle is your Uncle but in a past life he could have been your sister, husband, father, best friend, employer and so on. It is quiet an interesting theory and one of my favorites. If he is into past life regression, he should continue to explore this and keep a notebook. This way he can jot down things that feel familiar and he might be able to come up with a template outline of what his past life or lives might have been.
