I'm inquiring, if at all possible, to have a meeting to discuss some key items about the coven. Mostly, I would like to discuss in what direction everyone wishes for it to go into. Crystal had mentioned recruiting others, and I think it sounds like a good idea.
However, before the ball can begin to roll on that, I'd like to first find out some information from everyone. Ibelieve a meeting would be the best outcome for that. However, I know everyone is busy, as life normally is.
If a meeting is beyond the reaches, a response to this post would work as well. I would just like to get a feel for everyone here.
It seems to me that the biggest problem we have is that people join a Coven and then never participate in it by posting topics or responding to Coven threads. It's not just this coven, but I ran into it in the Coven I ran and in another to which I've belonged. I tried asking for topics that members were interested in, and even when those were started there were few responses. It's hard to keep things going if everybody doesn't participate.
I'm open to whatever seems interesting to our members. And I do think that advertising the Coven being open for new members is a good idea.
I'd be happy to start some threads on how to go about creating and casting spells. And of course I'm always happy to talk about Wicca if anyone is interested.

Lark I would greatly enjoy discussions on Wicca. I know not much about initiatory Wicca and would love to learn more even if only so I have correct information about it myself.
Topics I enjoy are traditional witchcraft topics and folk magic, which I can contribute some topics on this. I have been wanting to contribute more discussion topics and have posted a few in the coven forum already, I am struggling to find ideas momentarily. I will post threads as I come up with them.
As far as the path the coven should take I feel a coven open minded to multiple different paths is nice. I feel a sharing and learning atmosphere is helpful and doesn't limit members to just folk practice or any other practice.
Like Lark said and I have experienced this within covens as well is that there are members whom join and never post anything. They don't post threads, not respond to any.
It becomes a matter of having active members but that is easier said than done.

Thank you both for answering. I can start to write up a post to add to public, unless either of you is interested in doing it. Both of you have been in here longer than I have. I'm not sure though how active people are on here. I had been in a few other groups, due to my nature of knowledge-seeking, and they all seemed to be a bit quiet. I think with advertising purposes, mentioning activity would be one of the key points.
I would also enjoy reading whatever topics either of you feel comfortable with sharing. Personally for myself, I really only work with nature, and that's not something I've been able to do lately. Although, I can add information in here about it.
I am also considering sending mail to those in this group that aren't speaking. A way to get to know them better. I can understand the business of life, it is life after all. However, not speaking in any form at all makes me wonder why they are even in here.

Your ideas sound great Daena. I agree a level of activity be suggested when publically posting regards the coven and perhaps as well it be stated on the main page of the coven if not already as a reminder.
Hello, I have a lot of interests, though I would like to find out more on spirits and objects used in magic. I don't really talk much, but I will try to add something if I can. I do have an idea I am working on that I would be happy to share, when I feel it is presentable. If anyone has any questions for me, then I will try to answer what I can.

Thank you for answering. I can add some posts on the topics you are interested in in the future. Although, I have been busy of late I will do my best to post as often as I can.
