Coven Suggestions

I'd like to use this thread for coven suggestions for members.

Such things as quizzes, coven chat meetings etc.

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions they'd like to discuss related to the coven, this is the thread for that.

Here are my suggestions:

Weekly meetings
Weekly "homework/class" topic
Study group - we can all pick a book perhaps and discuss the topics in that book
Coming together to perform rituals for full moon, new moon, sabbats, etc.

I like these suggestions.

Currently the coven does discussion topics weekly and class teaching threads when council can. I have not had time to write up a class thread this week, but end of the week I can have it up.

The only thing which concerns me of book discussion, is that I don't expect members to pay for books we decide upon and these days everything can be so expensive. I don't want to put it on coven members to supply books to discuss.

However a what book are you currently reading type thread can be great for members to discuss which books they are enjoying and which they'd caution others about.

I see a thread like that being a great addition.

I love the idea of the "what are you reading" thread.

I gave absolutely no thought to the cost of books, so thank you for bringing that up.

Perhaps there are articles/excerpts that we can find online, post here and then discuss those.

What is everyone's thoughts on having weekly meetings? If weekly won't work, then bi-weekly/monthly?

We could use the chat feature here on SOM and use the coven tab on it.

Thoughts? Ideas? Opinions?

I think a monthly meet up could work.

The trouble is time zones could be an issue, but we won't know what would be good for everyone if they do not let us know.

As for myself I am in Eastern Standard Time. Late afternoons are good for me, around 5 or 6 pm est, but like I said, time zones and hours others can be present could come into play as well.

I'm in the central time zone. I think a weekly or monthly coven topic/meeting would be excellent.
