can you use meditation to mentally connect to a god or goddess? not to summon them, but to connect to their energies.

Absolutely! This is a great way to develop a connection to the Divine and one I use all of the time.

I agree. Meditation as a tool is useful for many things. At its most basic, meditation is a practice of becoming still and observant. Particularly towards one's thoughts. From there a person can expand into a multitude of intents from inward journeying to astral travel, connecting with guides and guardians, past-life (or between life) exploration, and, of course, connecting with higher vibrations and energies such as those of the proverbial higher-Self, higher beings, and deities.

Do you mean in meditation to communicate with them? Yes. Meditation calms the chatter and brings you to the present. In this state, you can receive messages from the divine as well as your higher self.
