So yes, another discussion on a somewhat less discussed topic, which is Copper.
We all have an understanding of the importance of copper and it being the best conductor of electricity, and it's many uses in daily living, like computers, cars, electronics and yes, faster internet speeds, however to me , it seems copper goes abit unnoticed or less discussed pertaining to Religion, Magick and Witchcraft.
So I am going to attempt to put this topic out there, and give copper a much deserved place on the podium.
A little journey back to ancient times, where we learn that copper was primarily mined in Cyprus, which is also said to be the birth place of Aphrodite, Greek Goddess of love. So here we see copper and it's link to the symbol of love.
And when we link the symbol of love to copper, we find that copper is the alchemical element of Venus and is connected to the transformative process of love, beauty and harmony.
So with copper being one of the first metals mined and worked with by human hands, it becomes a metal that has been in existence for thousands of years, which was used by ancient civilizations for its most practical purposes, like tools, jewellery and sacred objects.
Copper has been associated with protective qualities in different cultures, it has the ability to ward off evil spirits, promote good luck, and protect against illness and negative energy.
In my religion, Hinduism, we have a copper object called a Yantra, it's a thin copper disc , probably a matchbox size, with the inscription of our choice of Divinity.
So too there are many traditions including Celtic and Native Americans who revere copper for its magical energies and properties. Often using it in divination, sacred rituals, making amulets, and also to connect with the spiritual realm.
Copper being high in vibrational energy, also embodies the quality of creativity, harmony, and this makes it an ideal tool in witchcraft spells regarding love , fertility and artistic inspiration.
Copper's magical essence is brought out in spellwork, it enhances intent related to amplifying energy and physical abilities. Copper provides a deep connection to love and Spirituality.
Copper has many healing properties, which extends to both body and mind. It promotes overall wellbeing and it gives mental clarity. I would say, it's an essential tool in healing practices.
I'm sure we all know someone or maybe one of you who wears a copper bracelet, or band, it's because of its pure and simple healing properties to the mind and body.
I wear an enchanted ring with cubic zirconias on them, the ring is copper.
Also in magick, a wand made with copper will help enhance, amplify and direct the energy that flows through it. One can enhance the energy of any magical tool that is set in copper or contains copper within. Copper is essential in healing work, fertility spells, prosperity spells and spells to attract love.
Copper brings emotional balance. As much as it attracts, vibrates, and conduct positive energy, it also has the ability to channel off negative energy in this same manner.
Anything negative cannot sustain itself on copper, and in scientific terms, copper is said to be antimicrobial, simply meaning that bacteria cannot survive on copper too long, their cells quickly start to weaken, they cannot reproduce, and they vanish, so this example should serve as reference, that negative energies cannot sustain itself on copper.
