Step into your room and look around.
Then whisper:

Messy and mucky with nothing in its place.
Clean and tidy is how it should be.
So Mote it be!


Repeat in a normal voice.

No, you didn't. It's a fake spell. Magick won't suddenly make your room clean, sorry. You'll have to clean it yourself.

You did nothing wrong, magick doesn't do instant physical changes, so if you were expecting your dirty clothes to teleport into the hamper, the dust vanish, and your paperwork tidied, no. This might work if you say it after cleaning as a motivator to keep your room tidy.

Plus it would be more believable if it rhymed.
