This is an anti-witchcraft piece, but I thought it would be worse. I agree with some of the authors points, but disagree with the overall message. Yes, we should see witchcraft as legitimate and not ''fun hobby for kids/teens.'' He mentioned going to a dark place with his craft, dabbling with tarot and ouija boards and then realizing the true path is Christian/Catholic. I suspect he did not do his research, jumped without a parachute and landed in demon territory thus scaring him Christian. I have nothing wrong with Christianity or any other faith. I also do not mind when a Witch finds a new spiritual path and converts. My issue is when someone goes from one spiritual path to another and then denounces the previous path as ''evil.'' There is nothing evil in witchcraft. The issue is when someone thinks it is cool, and instead of learning the ''boring'' spells, like protections, they dive into the ''cool'' spells and unwittingly summon something above their level of knowledge, have a terrible experience and run away out of fear. It was not the spells, it was your hubris.
I mean, parts of witchcraft can be evil, like death spells (as with anything). But trying to find inner peace and happiness, find human bonds, and have a good life isn't very evil is it?
Honestly, being brought up Christian I was taught that witchcraft was Devil work and what not, but I when hearing that I didnt feel like that was quite true. Years later the spiritual world was opened up to me by one of my grandmother who was a Christian Witch.
With that being said I too feel like I agree that Witchcraft isnt just something to play with or a hobby, it's a life style. I dont choose to do magic or make anything or connect with nature just because that day calls for it. It all happens naturally on a daily basis, but I also know I am a Child of God.
So I found that understanding that if you realize God is the all powerful who created all of this for us to be able to do witchcraft and He also gave us our gifts, then we would see that witchcraft isn't ''Devil worship'' or whatever else they may call it, but it's just natural.
Now with that being said, I know and understand that there are other gods and goddesses and paths of religion, so I will not down anyone else's spiritual life, I am open-minded to it all. Everyone should just do research before jumping into something so powerful like witchcraft. It's something beautiful and amazing to do and experience. If you find your calling to also learn how to use witchcraft in your daily life to help others, then I feel like life would feel more peaceful for a person internally. They'd know what their purpose is and I find that to be one of the questions many of us people seem to ask ourselves.
Of course these are all just my thoughts, I don't mean to shove anything onto anyone or offend anyone either! So if I did I greatly and sincerely apologize to you.
