We all know that an alter is something sacred for us. So it is no different in voodoo. In Haiti the alter is called Kay myste (House of mysteries) and can can be in an other house or room.
The simplest voodoo altar is having a table, chest, or any flat surfice with a clean white cloth and a sprinkle of florida water.

what is Floria water? Florida water is a special perfume used in voodoo you can make it or go into a botanica and buy it.

How to make it.

Rose water: 15 parts
Jasmine oil: 6 parts
musk oil: 5 parts
BERGAMOT OIL: 3 parts
lavernder oil: 1 part
lemon oil: 1 part
clove oil: 1 part
cinnamon oil: 1/2 part
Neroli oil: 1/2

Add the ingredients to alcohol it can be medicinal alchol aka rubbing alchol or vodka and since most of you are young you can't get vodka so use the rubbing. Allow it to stand for nine days.

I could add more information to this but it really depends on what magick you want to do and which spirit you want to honor. Now in a voodoo altar just like any alter you add something that represents Lwa/God but you can also add things that you like. Once the person likes how it looks they power it up by singing a song (If anyone wants it just tell me and I'll add it).
